What technologies do you design and develop?
“I am responsible for designing and building test fixtures for fire annunciation control panels, devices used in fire alarm systems to display the status of various fire alarm zones and provide control functions for the system, which will undergo official third-party certification testing. Third-party testing ensures our fire panels are properly tested for the safety and long-term performance of the product.”
What inspired you to pursue engineering?
“I have always wanted to be a part of the design process of a product used globally. Part of the inspiration came from my uncle who is a civil engineer, and as a kid I always wanted to be like him.”
What's the coolest thing you get to do in your job?
“Performing hardware and software tests on different fire panels and getting a chance to work with various testing equipment and instruments.”
What’s your advice for aspiring engineers?
“Don't be afraid to ask questions. Be curious about the work you are a part of. Constantly ask about the purpose or intent of your work as this will help you understand the value you are bringing to your team and comprehend why your role is important.”
