Meet a #futureshaper: Janet Jin

Janet Jin helps protect workers.

She makes their jobs easier by designing products that are simpler to use.

As the experience design leader, she works closely with talented, experts in different subject matters to design and develop new ideas and solutions.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a child I want to be an officer of the government.

How long have you been at Honeywell?  

17 years

If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

I predict the future of my industry would include smart, highly efficient, automated warehouses and factories.

In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

A #futureshaper has great vision, functional excellence and strong execution.

What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. Embrace empathic intelligence, put yourself in the shoes of others, whether it be a customer or a colleague.

When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

I practice meditation, and like chan esthetics - the simplest design. I’m also learning the gu zheng (a Chinese musical instrument) with my daughter.
